Which different shampoos are there?
One commonly used hair loss shampoo is Alpecin. Alpecin hair loss shampoo contains caffeine, believed to be a stimulant for hair growth. In a clinical trial conducted in-vitro (in test tubes) on weakened hair roots, it was found that in the roots treated with caffeine, ‘caffeine alone led to a significant stimulation of hair follicle growth’. This doesn’t necessarily mean that caffeine treatment has the same effect on human hair follicles in situ (on the head) however.
Nioxin is another hair loss shampoo, which contains ingredients which the manufacturers claim can strengthen hair, protect against damage and breakage, and increase the fullness of each hair shaft to improve the look of your hair.
Nourkrin shampoo contains ingredients including marine (fish) proteins to increase hair volume and make the hair appear thicker and healthier.
While hair loss shampoos can’t halt hair loss or reverse it, the nourishing ingredients in them may improve the overall look and feel of your hair and make it appear healthier and fuller.
