When you’re feeling down, overwhelmed or need support with your mental health, it can be difficult to know where to turn. It’s not always easy getting a GP appointment, and finding the right private therapist when you’re not even sure what’s wrong can be a daunting task.
MindCare is a new app by Superdrug Online Doctor that empowers you to take charge of your mental health by letting you speak to a doctor when and where you feel comfortable. Our specially-trained doctors can provide you with an initial diagnosis and advice so you can take the first steps towards improving your mental health.
As we’re living in strange and challenging times, supporting mental health has become more vital than ever, and it’s essential that everyone has access to help.

What conditions can MindCare help with
MindCare can support you through a range of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress and sleep disorders. You’ll be able to read about these conditions and speak to a doctor about how you feel so you can get a diagnosis and advice. By answering a few simple, confidential questions about how you’re feeling before your consultation, our doctors will be able to build a clear understanding of your condition and how best to help you.
Who is MindCare for?
MindCare is for anyone over the age of 18 who needs support with their mental health. It can help you if:
- You’re struggling and don’t know how to get support
- You need advice and information from an accredited GP
- You don’t want to speak to your local GP about your mental health or find it hard to get an appointment
- You’re more comfortable speaking to a doctor in your own home through the app rather than in a face-to-face appointment
What can MindCare not help with?
MindCare is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know needs emergency support, you must contact the appropriate emergency services.
How can MindCare help?
MindCare gives you easy access to clear, trusted advice from GMC-registered doctors. You’ll be able to book an appointment with a GP who discusses your mental health with you as they guide you to get the right support.
Our doctors take a personalised approach with each consultation, and just as every mental health condition affects people differently, your support will also be tailored to your needs. Here, you’ll be able to identify what you’re struggling with, get an initial diagnosis and get help.
MindCare doctors can also write sick notes if appropriate and referral letters that can be used for private mental healthcare which can be covered by private insurance companies. Your doctor will also give you advice on how to tackle your condition independently so you can start making lifestyle changes that will improve your mental health right away.
How does the MindCare app work?
To use MindCare, all you have to do is download the app and answer a few questions about yourself. Your answers help us work out if MindCare is suitable for you and how our doctors can best support you. After that, booking an appointment couldn’t be more straightforward, simply:
- Tap ‘book an appointment’ to get started
- Select the time and day that’s best for you
- Answer a few more questions about your mental health to make sure our doctor has all the information they need
- Attend your appointment
If you are not quite ready to speak to a doctor yet, you can also use the app to find out more about different mental health conditions, such as anxiety, stress, sleep disorders and depression and how to cope with them.

Data protection
MindCare is an entirely confidential service. We will ask you for your GP’s details when you book an appointment. We do this so that we can write to them to let them know what our doctor has discussed with you to make sure you’re receiving the best level of care while also giving you a service that’s safe, reliable and tailored to your needs.
