How It Works

How does the Superdrug Online Doctor work?

Learn more about how our service works

With over 900 stores across the Republic of Ireland and the UK, Superdrug is a household name you can trust. Your prescription will be issued by one of our doctors who are registered with and regulated by the Irish Medical Council and can legally prescribe for our customers in Ireland. All our prescriptions can be dispensed at any Irish pharmacy.

You can interact with our online doctors in 3 easy steps. Place an order using our online assessment form, where our doctors will review your submission. Frequently asked questions

  • What am I paying for?

We charge for our consultation or prescription like your regular in-person GP visit. This does not include the price of any medication.

  • How much will my medication cost?

Superdrug Ireland operates as a prescription-only service, and we cannot advise about the pricing of specific medications. We suggest contacting your local pharmacy for this information directly.

  • Can I order for others?

You cannot place an order for somebody else using your patient account. Each person must have an individual account with a separate email address. We do this as we send personal medical information such as test results to your patient account, and keeping your personal information secure and confidential is one of our top priorities.

  • How long will my prescription take to be posted?

We send our paper prescriptions by standard delivery via An Post. This can take up to 7 working days for you to receive. If you need your prescription sooner, we suggest choosing our pharmacy collect option, where we will send your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice within 2 hours of our doctors accepting it.

  • How can I return my prescription if I change my mind?

You can cancel your order up to 30 calendars days after we've submitted it. First, you must return the unused prescription to us before we can issue you a refund. This will appear in your account within 3 working days. This is only applicable to physical prescriptions.

  • I can't find the prescription I usually order from your website, is it out of stock?

If you cannot find the medication on our list that you usually order, there may be a current shortage with pharmacy suppliers nationwide. Please send us a message through your patient account, and our doctors will do their best to help you and recommend an alternative if possible.

  • Do you deliver medication?

In Ireland, we are unable to deliver any medication directly.

  • My pharmacy says they haven't received my prescription via Healthmail. What do I do?

If your pharmacy cannot locate your prescription on their system, there are a few things you can do: Double check that the dispensing pharmacist is spelling your name correctly when searching through their Healthmail. Your name will be written in the subject bar of the email we send your pharmacy to make it as easy as possible to locate. If this does not work, you can send us a message through your patient account, and we will make sure you get your prescription as soon as possible.
